Budapest

If you arrive in Budapest when the sun has given way to night and the first thing you see is the famous Chain Bridge with the castle hill behind it, then perhaps you will have the same reaction as me: you will be amazed. That is what I felt when I arrived in the city one evening in March 2010.

It is not only this detail that will impress you to the very depth of your soul, but also the entire city itself, which contends with Prague for the title of the most romantic place to spend a holiday.

The Danube with its thousands of boats, the splendours of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the thermal baths dating back to Turkish domination and the few remaining signs of the old communist period are all elements that will allow you to fully understand the thousand souls of a city that today, besides being cosmopolitan, is full of life at all hours of the day and night.
